Architecture isn't measured by how much it can do on day one. It's measured by how well it adapts on day one thousand. The goal isn't to predict every future requirement - it's to make future change less expensive than today's decisions.

Stable systems aren't the ones that never break. They're the ones designed to degrade gracefully, recover predictably, and keep small failures from becoming large ones. Reliability begins long before the first incident.

Every feature carries a long-term cost. Every requirement introduces another decision to maintain. Better engineering isn't doing more work - it's eliminating the work that never needed to exist.

Responsibility doesn't end when code reaches production. It continues through incidents, feedback, maintenance, and every decision that follows. Delivery is a milestone. Ownership is continuous.

Complexity appears by default. Simplicity requires discipline. Every abstraction, dependency, and service should solve a measurable problem - not satisfy a preference or follow a trend.
